Full Wraparound Care service at Bathwick!
Our school is open on every school day throughout the year from 7.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. Parents can book their child into Breakfast Club and into After School Club. This service provides additional activities for our children and allows much greater flexibility to the normal drop-off and pick-up times. We’ve recreated a family environment – the ‘Club family’ where children can enjoy a relaxed choice of activities at both breakfast and after school care. Existing Parents can book here: ‘Wraparound Care’
To find out more, please contact the school office.
Our Open Mornings
We have now held all the Open Mornings for children starting school in Reception 2023. If you were unable to attend, please do contact us and we will try and arrange an individual tour for you. In the meantime, please do have a look at our Virtual Tour and Frequently Asked Questions with Reception class teacher Miss. Farrar.
If you are interested in applying for a place in any school year for your child, you are very welcome to come for an individual tour of the school. Please contact the school office to arrange a convenient time.
How To Help Your Child With Reading
At Bathwick St. Mary we believe learning to read is one of the most important things your child will learn at our school. So much else depends on it, so we put as much energy as we possibly can into making sure that every single child learns to read as quickly as possible. We use the ‘Read Write Inc’ approach which has been shown to be one of the most effective approaches to teaching children to read. All parents and carers in Year R, 1 and 2 were invited to a reading information session in September. For those who could not attend, a recording of the event can be found here, together with the Powerpoint slides and two Parent Information booklets:
- Parent Booklet 1
- Parent Booklet 2
