School visits
Over the last term, it has been a joy to broaden our curriculum again with exciting trips and visits that do so much to add to the curriculum offered here at Bathwick St. Mary.
Our regular visits are usually linked to topic work and go to places like Bristol Zoo, Farleigh Hungerford Castle, the Bristol Hippodrome, Fleet Air Arm Museum and the SS Great Britain as well as many wonderful locations in the World Heritage City of Bath.
In the older year groups, there are residential visits each year which children love.
- Year 4 – two nights to the Magdalen Project (an 132 acre organic farm in Somerset)
- Year 5 – two nights to Dean Field (a ‘high ropes’ adventure centre in the Forest of Dean)
- Year 6 – four nights to the Isle of Wight
“I accompanied my son on a fun and memorable pirate day trip. All the teachers, children and helpers dressed up and we took a ‘pirate ship’ up the River Avon and had a pirate picnic and games in the park on our return. It is a memory I’ll cherish”A parent
