The love of reading and books has been evident this term as all classes from Years 1 to 6 heard from some brilliant authors as part of the recent trips to the Bath Literature Festival. We all thoroughly enjoyed listening to Michael Rosen (Children’s Laureate from 2007-2009) at the start of the week. Following this, each Junior class were fortunate to be inspired by other super authors: Year 3 listened to poet and playwright Joseph Coelho; Year 4 enjoyed the acclaimed author Maz Evans; Year 5 learned about Incredible Untold Stories that Shaped Britain with The Black Curriculum; and Year 6 were enthralled with authors Robin Stevens and Serena Patel.
We were also fortunate enough to welcome Cerrie Burnell in May to give a fascinating talk to Years 4, 5 and 6 about her new book Wilder than Midnight and copies of her books have been very popular in the library. Don’t forget you can reserve a copy of any of her books if they are currently out on loan!
