Food at Bathwick St Mary Primary School
We recognise the importance of nutritious meals for happy, healthy learners, and our team of dedicated cooks, together with the School Nutrition Action Group, work hard to offer a healthy and appetising selection of school meals.
An important note about allergies
Because we have several children with serious nut allergies, Bathwick St Mary’s is a NUT-FREE ZONE.
As food allergies and general allergies become more prevalent, we do ask parents and carers to be extra cautious when bringing in food or other items from home. If you are in any doubt, please see the class teacher in the first instance. There is more information on this in our Allergies section.
School Nutrition Action Group
The School Nutrition Action Group (SNAG) produces an annual round up which can be found below.

School lunches survey results: the headlines
‘Eating with friends’ and ‘Choosing my own food’ were the two main things that the children said they liked the most about the school dinner experience. The introduction of a daily fresh pasta dish (giving children an extra choice of main course) was a popular suggestion and School Cook Mrs Tugwell is now looking in to introducing this.
The Salad Bar idea also proved to be a hit. A bright child-size salad trolley has been ordered for help-yourself fresh salad items.
